Enjoy watching the animals in close-up at Kyoto City Zoo
The newly-reformed facilities
The Kyoto City Zoo which is the second oldest zoo in Japan renewed its facilities in Fall 2015.
The zoo changed its style into a more enjoyable place for children and adults.
Located inside Okazaki Park, Kyoto City Zoo is easily accessible and is convenient for parents with small children.
Walkway located higher than giraffe’s eyesight
You can see the giant giraffe from multiple angles.
From the “Wooden Walkway,” you can see the giraffes from a higher position than them and feel as tall as their height.
Maybe you may find your eyes locking with theirs.
Interact with animals at the petting zoo
The area that is especially popular among children is the petting zoo “Otogi no kuni.”
Here, children can interact with goats, sheeps, and small pigs.
There are sometimes other animals for a limited time, so please check the schedule if you are interested.
Cute monkeys waiting for you
There are many kinds of monkeys such as gorillas and chimpanzees living in the zoo.
In the facility, there are gibbons and ring-tailed lemur living too, and visitors can see these adorable animals.
The unique postures of the monkeys are also worth focusing on during the visit.
View from the Ferris wheel
The Ferris wheel is small but is one of the popular attractions in the zoo.
It may be romantic to enjoy the view as a couple from the colorful Ferris wheel.
